Mother’s Day 09

It’s my day.

Last Sunday, I never expected that my little boy will surprise me with something special. When I woke up, he was still sleeping soundly beside me. When I went downstairs, I saw hubby’s white roses flanked in a vase with a handwritten card placed beside it. It says ” Happy Mother’s Day. Love Papa and Izech”

I ran upstairs to get my camera when I saw our son sitting on the bed half-awake. He startled me at first but he stood up and opened the door, “Ate? Are you there? Go up.” He was calling for his nanny. He looked at me and said ” Ma, can you get ate.” While this conversation was happening, he asked his dad to go to his nanny’s room. Still with eyes half-closed, he began searching the place. They asked me to stay downstairs. After a few minutes, he handed me this card. It was really thoughtful of him. According to his ate, he personally chose that card (and wrote the message without her help). Though, I’m a stay-at-home mom, he finds it as a career. A job, that he says I’m good at.

I thought, that’s it. However, my two boys told me to get ready as we’ll be dining at Vieux Chalet for lunch. I’ve been reading good reviews about the place so I got excited. It was a 45min drive from our place. We nearly got lost but good thing I printed out a copy of the map. When we got there, our table was ready. You have to call for reservations before going to the place. Rico, helped us with the menu. We ordered salad, pasta and pizza. The lemon tea was also a treat. It tastes heavenly. According to him, most of their food were homegrown. We also met the owner. It wasn’t just a resto but a bed and breakfast inn. We’re thinking of renting a room for our next visit.

By 1pm, we trooped to Eastwood for a quick stroll and a few games at Timezone. Our Sunday won’t be complete without hearing mass at CTK. I definitely enjoyed my day. Every thing was perfect!

is my son’s (latest) term of endearment for me. He started using that pet name last Monday. Just now, I asked him,” what does puti mean?”. He approached me and said, “you use it to call someone you love”. It’s really cute. How I wish he’ll be my baby forever. Though, we’ve been having arguments almost everyday, I still find him sweet and very loving.

The first grandson in hubby’s side of the family celebrated his 11th birthday together with Ate Jing. It was a simple celebration with lots of food and overflowing chickahan. The kids had fun riding the side car and scooter. We went home just in time for dinner. I had a blast driving the kids around the compound. More pics here.

Girl’s 4th Lunch Date

has been a monthly ritual with my Ingenium Mom (friends). We started last January at Bellini’s then just last Friday at Max’s resto. It’s like a breather that we -MOMS need to take so we won’t be too stressed with our daily responsibilities. Honestly, when summer started, I don’t know if I will be able to join them. Luckily, I have understanding friends. They made sure that each lunch out or trip to the salon will be scheduled according to my free time. Few more weeks to go and I will be more relaxed.

Visita Iglesia 09

This family tradition started when I was still young, my family would visit seven (7) churches around the metro to commemorate our Lord’s journey from the time he suffered up to the day he died. Filipinos call this Visita Iglesia. For this year, my dad decided to take the southern route from Cavite to Tagaytay. As we loaded all the food in the car, we can feel the scorching sun and sweat trickling down our backs. Even with a full blast of the AC, the heat overpowered the coldness inside the car. We arrived at San Miguel Arkanghel around 8:45am. This church was built on January 18, 1752 under the leadership of Fr. Mariano Gomes, from the famous (3) Gomburza Martyrs. It took almost 120 years before it was given back to the local priests.

Kawit Church was established in 1624. It was the same church where our 1st Philippine President, Emilio Aguinaldo was baptized.

These were some of the churches we visited last Friday. I’ll be posting more pics at my multiply site. Hope you had a prolific Holy Week like ours.

Preschool: Moving Up DAY

Last Saturday, we experienced our 1st Moving Up event. The kids from nursery, k1 and k2 proudly showed the parents the things they’ve learned and enjoyed the past 10 months. My son and his classmates rendered a special dance number to officially start the program. Since, it was their last day in school, we made sure he had his pics taken with his friends and teachers. Next year, will definitely be more harder and hours will be longer.

my son’s a dancer – and he’s GOOD at it.

Today, was his first day at dance school. I didn’t have a hard time convincing him to join his classmates. As soon as his coach called them, everything or everyone for that matter was forgotten –including me. Since, parents and nannies are not allowed inside the studio, I took snapshots of little boy outside; peering like a lunatic at the glass doors. I was so proud when I saw him dancing and trying his best to imitate those hard steps. Believe me, it was complicated. Those twists and turns made me dizzy. His next class will be on Friday. Preschool: Moving Up Preps

Yesterday, we received their Patecon with the updated list of activities for the coming 2 weeks. They’re going to spend most of their time practicing for their moving up day and completing all their requirements. The school was suppose to give their class picture last week, however, they told us that they will need to have another session as the pictures were corrupted. I just hope they can distribute the proofs before the end of class. We’ll be buying little boy’s grad outfit tomorrow or early next week. I’m still thinking of a gift to give my son. He’s been doing well in school. In fact, they told us that he’s included in the top performers. Since, this is a progressive school, they dont encourage giving out special honors like 1st, 2nd or 3rd. They will just recognize the kids efforts through continuous praises.

Anyways, everything was in transition. Most of their supplies were given last week and yesterday. I’m sure little boy will be missing his classmates. Though, we’ll make sure that we’ll still have playdates every now and then…

from a wonderful party. I had my fill of italian dishes that are really mouthwatering.
My son really enjoyed the day playing with his friends from school. I’m now seriously considering the place for little boy’s upcoming party. This time, I want a more private gathering – his friends from school and my parents and sibs. Let’s see if my boss approves – my SON, that is.
